Western Mindanao Command Lauds Joint Task Force Central for Successful Surrender of 36 Firearms in Maguindanao del Sur

Maguindanao del Sur —Residents from Shariff Aguak, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Datu Abdullah Sangki, Mamasapano, Radjah Buayan, and Sultan sa Barongis turned over 36 firearms to the 33rd Infantry Battalion, as part of the government's "Balik Baril" program on May 3, 2024.



The surrendered firearms include sniper rifles, grenade launchers, rifles, shotguns, submachine guns, and pistols.



Present during the turnover were Philippine Army 601st Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Oriel Pangcog, Mamasapano Mayor Akmad Ampatuan Jr., and representatives from various local government units of the province.



The 33rd IB currently holds custody of the firearms.


The Western Mindanao Command commended the Joint Task Force Central for efficiently implementing the program and continuing to conduct decisive military and civil-military operations in Central Mindanao.
