PNP PRO BAR Deploys 440 Personnel to Ensure Security for Plebiscite in 63 Villages in SGA BARMM

Maguindanao del Norte —The Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PNP PRO BAR) deployed four hundred-forty personnel Thursday to aid PNP 12 in ensuring security and order during the upcoming plebiscite in 63 villages of the Special Geographic Area in BARMM for the ratification of the establishment of eight municipalities.



These personnel will provide security in the area until April 14.


PNP PRO BAR will also provide 150 personnel as a Reactionary Standby Support Force.


Regional Director of PNP PRO BAR, PBgen Prexy Tanggawohn, stated, "PNP PRO BAR will fully support PRO 12 as PRO 12 is actually in charge of the peace and security in conducting the plebiscite".


Under Autonomy Acts 41-48, eight municipalities from the 63 villages in the Special Geographic Area of BARMM are proposed to be established.


These proposed municipalities include Pahamuddin, Kadayangan, Nabalawag, Old Kaabakan, Kapalawan, Malidegao, Tugunan, and Ligawasan.


The 89,594 registered voters from the 63 villages will vote with a "Yes" or "No" in the plebiscite this Saturday, April 13, 2024.


Voting will be held in 67 voting centers with 189 clustered precincts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.


Vote counting will begin at 3:00 PM on April 13, with the Barangay Plebiscite Board of Canvassers convening at 6:00 PM for the canvassing of Plebiscite Returns until proclamation.
