PNP Officials Attend ASPIRE SALW Workshop; Basilan Gov. Hadjiman Hataman Salliman Shares Success Stories and Strategies in Addressing Small Arms and Light Weapons in His Province


Selected officials of the Philippine National Police from various regions in the country attended the Small Arms and Light Weapons workshop held in Cagayan de Oro City on August 1.



PRO BAR Acting Regional Director Prexy Tanggawohn, his provincial directors, and regional staff were in attendance.



Basilan Governor Hadjiman Hataman-Salliman presented the successful implementation of the program in his province.



The Assistance for Security, Peace, Integration, and Recovery for Advancing Human Security (ASPIRE SALW) is a crucial component of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) under the Annex on Normalization.



The workshop was led by MGen Francisco Ariel Felicidario, Chairperson of the GPH-Joint Peace and Security Committee, and PBGen Joseph Arguelles, Chief of the PNP-PPDC.



Insights were also provided by MILG Minister Sha Elijah Dumama-Alba, Joint Normalization Committee-MILF Member Dr. Tomanda Antok, Provincial Admin of Maguindanao del Norte Province, and LtGen Danilo Pamonag, Co-Chair of JTFC-GPH and JNC-GPH.



Other vital personalities who joined the workshop were PBGen Romaldo Bayting, Deputy Commander of the Area Police Command, Western Mindanao Command, David Diciano, head of the Bangsamoro Transformation Cluster, Regional Directors of PRO 9, 10, and 12, as well as Directors from the Forensic Group, Legal Service, and Provincial Directors of Maguindanao Del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, North Cotabato, and Zamboanga Del Norte.
