MANILA —On Sunday, the naval forces of the Philippines, Australia, Japan, and the United States sailed together in a historic Multilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity (MMCA) within the Philippines' Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the West Philippine Sea (WPS).

According to reports shared by Radyo Pilipinas, the joint sail in the WPS by the forces of the four allied countries is a demonstration of their commitment to strengthen cooperation in supporting an open and free Indo-Pacific region.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) did not report any untoward incidents amid China's announcement of its patrols conducted concurrently with the MMCA.
