Teddy Borja | iMINDSPH

Manila — PNP Chief, Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil, has issued an order prohibiting police officers from using cell phones, especially when on duty.

During an interview with Radyo Pilipinas, Gen. Marbil explained that he aims to enhance the presence of police officers, particularly in communities nationwide, and ensure that they are fully engaged with the public.

Emphasizing his point, he mentioned that he had successfully implemented this policy during his tenure as Director of the Police Regional Office 8 in Eastern Visayas, which is why he is now implementing it as the PNP chief.

Under the new directive, police officers, especially those assigned to beat patrolling duties, are strictly prohibited from using cell phones to prevent distractions and maintain their focus on duty.
