Lanao del Sur —Richard Awa Pepito, also known as "Rasid Pangarungan Dalidig" alias Thata, 51 years old and a resident of Barangay Bacolod Chico, Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur, was apprehended by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit BAR (CIDG RFU BAR).
The arrest took place at 5:50 PM on May 31 in the said location based on a Warrant of Arrest for Murder under Criminal Case No. 22-26070 issued by the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 3, Iligan City, Lanao Del Norte, on February 17, 2022. The court did not recommend bail.
Another Warrant of Arrest was issued against Pepito for murder under Criminal Case No. 2018-10-3505 issued by the Regional Trial Court, Ninth Judicial Region, Branch 23, Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur, dated February 12, 2018, with no recommended bail.
The suspect is among the Most Wanted Persons in the country, with a monetary reward of P140,000.00 as per DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2021-120, dated October 20, 2021.
Authorities brought the arrested individual to the CIDG Lanao Del Sur PFU office for documentation and proper disposition. The successful operation was carried out with the assistance of other law enforcement units, including 44th SAC, 4SAB-SAF, PIT LDS RIU 15, CIDG Zamboanga Sibugay PFU, 1403rd RMFB, PIU LDS PPO, Marawi CPS, and Station 3, Iligan City CPS.
