Cotabato City — The Provincial Intelligence Unit of Maguindanao del Norte, together with elements from Police Station 4 of the Cotabato City Police Office, successfully executed a Warrant of Arrest against an unnamed male suspect while seeking medical treatment at the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center on February 2, 2024.
The suspect is facing charges of violation of Republic Act 9262, also known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.
The Acting Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, 12th Judicial Region, Branch 14 in Cotabato City, issued the Warrant of Arrest on February 26, 2021.
The court has recommended a bail of 40,000 for the case.
The suspect, previously apprehended on January 31, 2024, is considered one of the Top 10 Most Wanted at the Provincial Level for a separate murder case.
Before the suspect's temporary detention at the custodial facility of the Cotabato City Police Office, a medical examination will be conducted while awaiting the commitment order.
