Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte - After days of intense exchange of gunfire, the group led by Rudy Laguiamoda, along with Commander Kaharudin Umbong of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front-Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (MILF BIAF) and Barangay Rebuken Chairperson Bai Wilma Soledad Otto, have finally put an end to their dispute.

Both parties were summoned to a meeting led by Sultan Kudarat Municipal Administrator Banjo Mampo, Sultan Kudarat Municipal Polic Chief, Police Colonel Esmael Madin, Maguindanao del Norte Provincial Police Director Sultan Sapal, and a representative from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Col. Guilbert Boado.

During the peace dialogue, the two sides agreed to resolve their differences peacefully and end the violence that recently transpired in the area.

The clashes between them in Barangay Rebuken have caused fear among residents concerned about being caught in the crossfire and the safety of motorists passing through the area.

On Thursday, January 25, 2024, both parties signed an agreement to maintain peace and tranquility in the community.

With this development, residents can now hope for a safe and peaceful community following the signing of the agreement. Authorities are also expected to intensify security measures to ensure the implementation of this agreement.
