Maguindanao del Sur — The CAA Patrol Base in Timbangan, Shariff Aguak, was rocked by a grenade explosion at 9:35 PM on Saturday, which injured two soldiers and a CAFGU member.
The victims were promptly rushed to the Integrated Provincial Hospital for treatment.
The military is pointing fingers at the Dawlah Islamiya-Hassan Group, alleging their involvement in the incident.
According to the 601st Brigade, the incident is linked to the deaths of 11 members of the terrorist group in Barangay Tuayan Mother, Datu Hoffer Municipality, on December 1, 2023.
601st Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Oriel Pangcog, emphasized to his troops to always remain vigilant amidst threats in the area.
