Driving Progress: MOTC BARMM Spearheads Infrastructure Developments in Tawi-Tawi and Jolo to Elevate Connectivity in the Region

Cotabato City —The Ministry of Transportation and Communications BARMM has commenced the construction of the Sanga-Sanga Airport Office Building in Tawi-Tawi. The project has a budget of 7 million pesos under the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of MP Jose Lorena.


The Repair and Improvement of Sitangkai Port, valued at 70 million pesos and funded through the Special Development Fund (SDF), is also set to begin.


MOTC Minister Paisalin Tago led the groundbreaking event for both projects on the 3rd of March. Tago emphasized these initiatives' vital role in enhancing regional connectivity and accessibility, ultimately boosting the region's economy.


Meantime, MOTC Director General Atty. Roslaine Macao-Maniri highlights the substantial contribution towards economic development through collaborative efforts among various agencies, security sectors, and local government units (LGUs).


Governor Yshmael "Mang" Sali, who advocates the vision of "Tawi-Tawi to the world," underscores the significance of these infrastructure projects in facilitating trade and fostering economic growth, as recognized by the LGU.


In a parallel initiative, MOTC BARMM prepares to kickstart the construction of the Airport Office Building in Jolo, alongside the rehabilitation of the BPMA Staff House at Jolo Port - both projects funded by the TDIF from MP Jose Lorena.


Minister Paisalin Tago led the capsule's placement, joined by Members of Parliament, including MP Atty. Jose Lorena, MP Atty. Nabil Tan and MP Don Mustapha Loong, marking a symbolic commitment to the region's enduring progress.
