Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos has instructed the Philippine National Police (PNP) to collaborate with the military in apprehending the perpetrators behind the killing of South Upi Vice Mayor Roldan Benito.
The DILG strongly condemns the ambush and murder of Vice Mayor Benito and his staff that transpired on Friday afternoon, August 2, in Sitio Linao, Barangay Pandan.
Secretary Abalos vowed to exhaust all efforts to attain justice for the victims and identify those responsible for the heinous crime.
The Secretary extended condolences and prayers to the families of the victims.
He also urged the public to cooperate with authorities by providing any information that may aid in swiftly resolving the case.
