Cotabato City - The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit BAR (CIDG RFU BAR) apprehended two (2) women in Cotabato City and Lanao del Sur for illegal practice of dentistry.
The first arrest transpired at 2 p.m. today in Barangay Basak Malutlut, Marawi City, where a woman not identified by CIDG RFU BAR was apprehended.
In a separate operation in Cotabato City at 10:30 a.m. on January 21, 2024, another woman who was also not identified by authorities was nabbed in an entrapment operation.
Both women were found to be practicing dentistry without the necessary credentials, including a Certificate of Registration, Professional Identification Card, and Special Permit. CIDG RFU BAR said the two individuals violated Section 33 (a) of RA 9484 or "The Philippine Dental Act of 2007."
During the entrapment operations, CIDG recovered various tools that the women had been using in their illegal practice.
The entrapment operations were carried out by CIDG RFU BAR in coordination with the Philippine Dental Association.
