9 Communist Terrorist Group Members Surrender with Seven Firearms to Philippine Army's 4th Infantry Division

Northern Mindanao —Five members of the Communist Terrorist Group turned themselves to the 88th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army on May 3, 2024.



Authorities identified the CTG members as Narnito Dum-ogan, known by the alias Totskie or Amel, and Beije Padejo, known as Gina or Karla. The two functioned as Squad Leader and Medic of Squad 1, HQ Loader of Sub-Regional Committee 2, while Alex Maggatawan alias Ricky, Hatton, Uli, or Pon, Alecia Maggatawan alias Alisya or Jean, and Ata Manggatawan alias Mia, Haidi, or Ana, held the positions of Team Leader Bravo, Squad Medic, and Supply Officer of Squad 2, Sub-Regional Core Committee.



They voluntarily surrendered three (3) Carbine Cal. 30 Rifles, one (1) M16 Rifle, and one (1) M14 Rifle.



On the same date, two (2) CPP-NPA terrorists also surrendered to the 26th Infantry Battalion. The military identified the two (2) CPP-NPA members as Verwell Sulina Cawasan alias Rebo, Rendon, or Tabor, and Jessa Mae Banawan Visto alias Wim or Dex, the Vice Commanding Officer and Finance Officer of Headquarters Loader of SRCR 2.



According to the 4th Infantry Division, they disclosed an arms cache in the mountainous part of Barangay Caburacanan, Malaybalay City, on May 4, 2024, which led to the seizure of an M653 Rifle and a Caliber .45 Pistol.



Two (2) more CNTs surrendered to the 1st Special Forces Battalion of the 103rd Brigade. The military identified them as Tony Lindaan Taquin alias Sayong, Waynim, Rotor, or Ropor, the member of Squad 1, Platoon Uno, SRC-5, NCRMC, and Rian Pid-ak Pedyaan alias Makmako Ronron, a member of Squad 2, Platoon Dos, SRC-5, NCRMC.


They turned in an M16 Rifle and a Cal. 40MM M203 Grenade Launcher.
