Maguindanao del Norte —The 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division and the Awang Health Center of the Rural Health Unit in Datu Odin Sinsuat have joined forces to carry out an extensive measles vaccination campaign.
In a collaborative effort, the Awang Health Center of the Rural Health Unit in Datu Odin Sinsuat and the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division organized a large-scale measles vaccination drive at the headquarters of the 6th ID on Tuesday.
This joint effort aims to prevent the increasing number of measles cases in the area.
Led by the Assistant Chief of Staff for CMO, OG7, and health workers from the Awang Health Center, the initiative was carried out in cooperation with the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) of Maguindanao del Norte and Camp Siongco Station Hospital.
Aside from vaccinating military dependents aged six months to ten years, youths from Barangay Awang and nearby areas also underwent vaccination.
Col. Romel Valencia, OG7, 6ID, mentioned that various government agencies, particularly the Ministry of Health in BARMM, are collaborating with the military in implementing measles vaccination drives.
The Ministry of Health kicked off the extensive measles vaccination campaign on April 1st.
